History of Har Ghar Tiranga – From Symbol to Soul
The current Tiranga (adopted July 22, 1947) evolved from designs by Pingali Venkayya and Gandhi’s 1921 Swaraj flag, symbolizing courage (saffron), peace (white), and growth (green). And 2022 Marking 75 years of independence, PM Modi envisioned Har Ghar Tiranga to make the Tiranga a personal emblem—not just institutional. Over 23 crore homes hoisted flags, with 6 crore selfies uploaded digitally. In 2023 the participation surged to 10+ crore selfies, cementing Har Ghar Tiranga as India’s largest patriotic mass movement.

Participation Steps
1. Hoist the Tiranga

- From 2 August to 15 August 2025, display the Indian national flag at your home (or office/educational institution) in adherence with the Flag Code of India
2. Capture a Selfie with the Flag

- Take a clear photograph of yourself with the flag.
3. Register and Upload

- Visit the official portal: harghartiranga.com and navigate to the “Upload Selfie with Tiranga” section.

- Complete the form with your details—typically your full name, mobile number, and state/district—as required.

- Upload your Tiranga selfie and submit.
4. (Optional) Take the Tiranga Pledge

- Enhance your engagement by taking the pledge on the MyGov platform at pledge.mygov.in.

- Completing this pledge enables you to download an additional “Tiranga Pledge Certificate” instantly.
